We have around 50 plots over a range of sizes available for rental. Once allocated, the tenancy naturally rolls on year-on-year as long as the fees are paid, and the rules of the society relating to plot maintenance etc. are adhered to.
In general, therefore plots only become available when a tenant relinquishes the plot.
The soil is a sandy loam overlying chalk, making it free draining and easy to work. Additional organic matter in the form of compost and mature helps retain moisture.
There are 2 water troughs on site for the use of plotholders through the seasons. Many members collect water from their shed into water butts.
There is a limited range of equipment available for use once members have been trained in their safe use. Members are encouraged to assist in maintaining the site - mowing paths, cleaning up the communal areas.
Members can purchase seeds and seed potatoes at attractive discounts from the Allotment Society.
We are affiliated to the National Allotment Society
